Daniel Daneshvar '00, shares a few thoughts from the perspective of a legacy parent.

When it came time to decide where to enroll your current 6th grade son Liam, what made Milken the right fit for him?

We saw that Milken had everything we wanted for our son. We were impressed by the rigorous academic curriculum, extracurricular opportunities, and warm community environment. We always wanted a school that mirrored the Jewish values Liam was learning at home. Milken does an outstanding job supporting important core values inside and outside the classroom. We knew that Milken was the best school in providing the best of academics, social experiences, and athletics. 

We hope that Liam feels pride and confidence in practicing Milken’s Jewish core values. We would love to see that he has cultivated passions and interests that make him better understand who he is and how he can help his community. We also hope that he has made a group of close knit friends who will be there for him years after his graduation. 

 

 

Milken has transformed since my years there as a high school student. The leadership is tremendous, beginning with Dr. Shulkind, and following through to the teachers, coaches, and vast number of supporting staff. There are state of the art resources in the fields of science, robotics, and technology. Athletics have expanded and are competitive in each field. Most importantly, the sense of community still remains from grades 6-12 despite the larger school size. The attention you receive here as a student creates an amazing academic and social experience. Milken has created an environment that fosters future success.   

 

I have many fond memories of my time at Milken. I came into the 9th grade with a few friends and was quickly able to make more friends who remain very close till this day. The sense of community and the core values have shaped who I have become today. I have vivid memories of our class trips, sports teams and the amazing, dedicated teachers and coaches. Those experiences and relationships have played a key role in the path I took in my career as a physician and my dedication to the Jewish community and Israel.
