POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Educational Technology (DoET) serves as an active member of Milken’s Curriculum and Integration Team and collaborative partner to faculty, staff, and administration. This role involves providing professional development, supporting curriculum development, and ensuring the effective implementation of technology to enhance teaching and learning. The Director of Educational Technology will stay abreast of current trends and innovations in educational technology, ensuring that the school community leverages technology to support student success and uphold the school’s values. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES 
Leadership and Vision
  • Develop and articulate a clear vision for educational technology integration aligned with the school’s mission and values.
  • Collaborate with school leadership to establish technology-related initiatives.
  • Stay informed about emerging educational technology trends, tools, and best practices, sharing insights with faculty and staff.
  • Lead the adoption and integration of educational technology tools to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Oversee the management of digital tools, platforms, and resources, ensuring alignment with school-wide instructional goals.
Professional Development
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and instructional coaches to support curriculum development and instructional practices.
  • Plan and deliver professional development workshops and resources to support faculty in adopting best practices in educational technology.
  • Organize ongoing opportunities for staff to explore new tools, techniques, and methodologies to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Serve as a resource for troubleshooting and advising on effective use of instructional technology.
Curriculum Development + Support
  • Work with teachers and Instructional Leaders to design, develop, and refine curriculum that incorporates innovative technology solutions.
  • Support the creation of interdisciplinary projects and problem-based learning opportunities that leverage technology.
  • Ensure that technology integration aligns with curriculum standards and promotes 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication.
Supervisory Responsibilities 
  • Manage the space and resources in the Guerin Lab and Idea Lab, including but not limited to maintaining up-to-date safety protocols, organized systems and structures for materials management, professional-looking and clean spaces, as well as budgetary needs. 
  • Manage the Robotics Program, including developing a practice schedule, student behavioral and conduct standards, competition participation, travel arrangements, etc. 
  • Supervise the Fab Lab Manager and Robotics Coaches, including providing on-going support and feedback toward goals. 
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage educational data dashboard, inclusive of myMilken data, surveys, admission data, etc.
  • Develop and manage educational technology budgets annually.
  • Evaluate and recommend digital tools, platforms, and resources that enhance teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with the IT department to ensure the availability, functionality, and security of educational technology resources.
  • Develop safety protocols, systems and structures for the new fabrication space at Milken East (for 2026-27).
  • Participate in school leadership meetings and contribute to strategic planning efforts.
  • Foster the ethical and responsible use of technology within the school community, emphasizing digital citizenship.
  • Act as a liaison between the school and external technology partners, vendors, and organizations.
  • Communicate technology initiatives and successes to stakeholders, including parents and the broader school community.
  • Represent the school in professional networks and at educational technology conferences and workshops.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on educational technology and professional development.
  • Teaching experience, particularly in grades 6-12, is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of digital tools and platforms used in education.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in designing and delivering professional development for educators.
  • Creative problem-solver with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), Google Workspace for Education, and other relevant platforms.
  • A strong understanding of AI-related platforms (i.e., MagicSchool, ChatGPT, Brisk, Diffit, Curipod) and their implications in education. 
  • Commitment to continuous professional growth and innovation.

SALARY RANGE: $100,000 - $120,000
