Part-Time Design Arts Teacher

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Part-Time Design Arts Teacher position will be responsible for teaching one upper school level class. This position is ideal for an experienced educator or working professional who is eager to inspire students and contribute to a thriving arts program.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with another Design Arts educator to plan and prepare engaging and rigorous lessons for one upper school design arts class. Curriculum is existing but flexible based on student needs.
  • Deliver instruction three times a week during a 55 minute block.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and critical thinking.
  • Provide constructive feedback on student work, emphasizing skill development and artistic growth.
  • Collaborate with the Visual Arts Department to align curriculum with school-wide academic goals and values.
  • Engage with students, parents, and colleagues to support the school’s mission and build community.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, Design, Art Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Teaching experience at the high school level or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of design principles and proficiency in tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop).

HOURLY RATE: $150/hr
