Faculty Member Wins Prestigious Writing Grant

Congratulations to Director of Creative Writing Melody Mansfield.
Melody is this year’s recipient of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators’ (SCBWI) Sue Alexander Grant.

Selected from manuscripts submitted for critique during their annual conference, the award is given to the manuscript deemed most likely to be published. Melody’s young adult novel-in-progress is titled “Between the Wish and the Word.” She will receive full tuition to the next SCBWI-LA Working Writers Retreat.
